Ruth Waring FCILT, a highly regarded professional with 34 years’ experience in the logistics and warehousing industry, is the owner of RW Consulting, specialising in transport compliance, health and safety, and training. In 2008, Ruth Waring, along with UKWA’s Chief Executive Clare Bottle, founded Women in Logistics UK, which has flourished within CILT (UK).
The networking event for IWLEX, titled Women in Warehousing and Logistics (WIWL), is projected to attract hundreds of female professionals from within the industry.
Commenting on her involvement, Ruth Waring FCILT, stated, “I have been supporting and advising the IWLEX team since its inception in 2022 and have been encouraged by their genuine commitment to creating an exhibition that is fully open and inclusive for all.”
Ruth, continues, “It’s refreshing that the organisers have recognised the importance of supporting and creating an event that delivers relevant content from a female professional’s perspective and celebrates the success and incredible female role models that operate at every level of our sector. The industry has come a long way since we founded Women in Logistics in 2008, but there is still plenty of work to do to ensure that more women are attracted to our sector and supported, trained, and encouraged to reach their full potential and career objectives. IWLEX will allow us to come together, share knowledge, and further encourage each other.”
The Women in Warehousing and Logistics (WIWL) networking event is scheduled for the afternoon of May 14th, 2024, and will consist of a dedicated 3-hour slot on the first day. The specific program of events will include speed mentoring, inspiring female leader keynotes, and structured networking opportunities in a welcoming atmosphere. The speakers will focus on providing delegates with a toolkit for success, offering valuable insights and strategies.
Nairn Foster, the Managing Director of IWLEX, expressed enthusiasm for Ruth’s support, stating, “We’re thrilled to have the expertise and insight of Ruth in helping us construct this important initiative. Since the inception of Women in Logistics in 2008, Ruth has continued tirelessly to volunteer her time to address the significant diversity challenges within the logistics profession. There are now more women holding a broader variety of roles within the Warehouse and Logistics sector, using their skills and talents to add value and drive change at all organisational and operational levels. IWLEX is committed to ensuring that our sector continues to attract and nurture the best talent, making it a supportive industry with equal opportunities for all.”
