Driving effiicient warehouse processes with Zebra Rugged PDA's

The upgrade will see the business upgrade their existing handheld PDA’s with the latest, rugged devices for real time productivity and efficiency gains.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Established over 20 years, Nymas offer a range of design-led washroom solutions that cater for all levels of need in the accessible washrooms space, from private residential installations to avant-garde bathroom designs in deluxe hospitality venues.

Nymas are much more than just a supplier, whilst their distinctive brand family – NymaPRO, NymaCARE, NymaSTYLE and Fitzroy of London – delivers on safety, dignity and aesthetics the company also offers design consultancy services covering compliance and installation support and much more.

THE BUSINESS REQUIREMENT

Nymas Group are committed to European manufacturing and have extensive stock holding facilities within their UK based warehouse. They pride themselves on offering superior supply chain integrity backed up by efficient and responsive warehouse processes. As such, rugged mobile computers play a fundamental role in supporting the company’s picking processes. The project to upgrade the existing hardware estate was defined by a need for a more robust and user friendly device.

Steven McNally, Operations Manager at Nymas Group comments, “We selected TouchStar to support us with the upgrade due to their experience and reputation within the industry. We were looking for a rugged handheld device as our existing devices were not fit for purpose and prone to screen damage. Not only were they able to help us select the right hardware, but they also worked closely with us during the trial and proof of concept phase which made the path to upgrade a lot smoother.

The Solution – Zebra’s TC21 touch computer

The technology rollout recommended by TouchStar was Zebra’s TC21 handheld touch computer. Rugged by design, the TC21 with integrated pistol grip offered Nymas a lightweight, reliable and ergonomically designed hardware solution. Always connected, the devices are set to integrate with the company’s in house warehouse management software to support productivity and efficiency improvements within the operation.

Steven continues, “As we move towards the go live of the new devices, we are excited by the additional benefits the newer technology will deliver. The support we have received from TouchStar so far has been excellent, and we look forward to the potential benefits their rugged devices will be able to offer us in other areas of our operation”.

Peter Marsh, Sales Director for TouchStar comments, “With over three decades of experience supporting the rollout for mobile computing solutions for warehouse environments, we were thrilled to have the opportunity of working with Nymas. We feel that that in the TC21, we will be delivering a fit for purpose device that will deliver real operational benefits to the business.  We look forward to supporting another successful hardware upgrade with the business”.

IWLEX Exhibitors say :

  • "We’ve never seen a show like it! Within six minutes of the inaugural IWLEX (Inside Warehouse & Logistics Exhibition) opening, we had our first inquiry in the bag. The two days in May at the Telford International Centre went on to be the most successful trade show we have attended in terms of deals created at the event itself and immediately afterward."
    Hi-Level Mezzanines Ltd
  • “We thoroughly enjoyed our time at IWLEX. It is a valuable exhibition for companies looking for the highest quality visitors. Visitor numbers may be lower than at other exhibitions, simply because the organisers have done a fantastic job in screening out time-wasters! Everyone who came onto our stand was a motivated buyer and we have had several high-quality leads since the exhibition. We recommend IWLEX to anyone looking for relevant leads within the world of warehousing and logistics. Thank you, Justin and Nairn!”
