Zumtobel Group Stand: D34

With the launch of TECTON IP64/IP54, the range is now equipped for use in harsh industrial conditions. Until now, the classic TECTON luminaire has been restricted in its use, but with these two new variants, users can expect the same high level of flexibility high quality light output with the added IP protection.

A wider range of applications for the classic TECTON continuous row system

Where moisture or cold prevails indoors or outdoors, it can be abrasive and harsh, such as in multi-storey car parks or refrigerated logistics. These locations also represent an endurance test for the building infrastructure, including the lighting. However, industrial areas rely heavily on long-lasting lighting - sometimes around the clock. For these reasons, Zumtobel expanded its modular TECTON continuous-row lighting system to include IP64/IP54 protection.

Tight from the track to the luminaire

All critical joints and connections of Zumtobel's TECTON IP64/IP54 lighting solutions are fitted with sealing components, creating comprehensive protection against dust and water splashes. The upper and lateral surfaces of the corrosion-resistant trunking are entirely enclosed and smooth, so they do not provide any surface for dust or water to attack and are also easy to clean.

A sealing sleeve prevents dirt and/or water from penetrating the rail interior in the joint between two support rails. Foam seals inside the profiles of the luminaires and translucent sealing strips between the lens elements protect the LEDs from contamination. Between the continuous-row modules and the trunking, foam beads blackened with soot on the outer profile wall ensure a dust and water-protected connection point.

The end caps of the continuous-row luminaires and modules are made of resistant plastic firmly bonded to a soft sealing lip. The elastic material of the lip ensures a tight connection between modules and cover strips. Laterally running TPE seals close the gap between rail and cover strip and ensure tight transitions and a clean appearance.

Future-proof thanks to modular, flexible concept

Each TECTON trunking has five mains cables, two control cables and two independent emergency lighting circuits. This means that not only general lighting but also emergency lighting and lighting controls can be seamlessly integrated into the system. All modules can be mounted on the trunking rail without tools. Thanks to a new locking mechanism with integrated sealing plugs, the luminaires, sensors, and emergency lighting modules can be securely fastened with a flick of the wrist via two lateral levers.

The TECTON continuous-row lighting system adapts quickly to changing requirements. This is ensured by the trunking rail with its 11-pole integrated current conducting section and a pre-mounted butt joint connector. This enables continuous current tapping along the entire length of the rail. The seals at the joints do not detract from the functionality of the track. The lighting components can be flexibly positioned, added to, or moved even between two tracks.

The new variants retain many of the benefits of the classic system, including:

  • Extremely high luminous efficacy helps save energy costs.
  • Easy to integrate IoT modules
  • All lighting requirements satisfied from one range (emergency lighting, sensors, mounts additional industrial luminaires)
  • Support from Zumtobel Services throughout the entire life cycle of the lighting solution
  • Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) available to document the environmental impact of TECTON throughout its entire life cycle

Therefore, TECTON IP65/54 is the ideal solution for designers who want to create energy-efficient, flexible and future-proof continuous lighting systems in harsh environments.

Jon Lim Regional Product Manager at Zumtobel comments, “TECTON is not just any kind of continuous-row system. It is THE continuous-row system that has been tried, tested, and delivered in various applications for over twenty years. From offices to data centres to logistics centres, warehouses, exhibitions, hotels, and galleries, TECTON has been delivering excellent lighting quality and efficiencies.  The extremely high luminous efficacy helps save energy costs and creates the basis for successful environmental building certification. We use environmental product declarations (EPDs) to document the environmental impact of TECTON throughout its entire life cycle, including its CO2 balance and material composition. With this latest development to the range, we can extend these efficiencies to even more challenging, energy-intensive, and harsh industrial conditions and with the addition of Zumtobel Services, this takes the customer from project design to installation and maintenance - we offer support throughout the entire life cycle of the lighting solution.”

IWLEX Exhibitors say :

  • "We’ve never seen a show like it! Within six minutes of the inaugural IWLEX (Inside Warehouse & Logistics Exhibition) opening, we had our first inquiry in the bag. The two days in May at the Telford International Centre went on to be the most successful trade show we have attended in terms of deals created at the event itself and immediately afterward."
    Hi-Level Mezzanines Ltd
  • “We thoroughly enjoyed our time at IWLEX. It is a valuable exhibition for companies looking for the highest quality visitors. Visitor numbers may be lower than at other exhibitions, simply because the organisers have done a fantastic job in screening out time-wasters! Everyone who came onto our stand was a motivated buyer and we have had several high-quality leads since the exhibition. We recommend IWLEX to anyone looking for relevant leads within the world of warehousing and logistics. Thank you, Justin and Nairn!”
    NLT Mechanical
  • '' It was a good show and quality is always better than a high number of tyres kickers . We have engaged with two potential customers with live projects that at this point are looking promising hence committing to IWLEX24.''
    Russell Hutchinson
    Business Development Manager - Daifuku
  • "At 51T we are really excited to be part of the inaugural Inside Warehouse Logistics exhibition. Having exhibited at other events we felt it was time for something new, in particular the original idea of having the industry shape the event. We're looking forward to meeting a new group of buyers and becoming part of the new IWLEX community."
    Duncan Dampier
    51T International Accounts Manager
  • "The Safety Knife Company are delighted to be part of the inaugural Inside Warehouse Logistics exhibition. We believe that this energetic new event will be a ‘must attend’ for the industry professionals and attract excellent visitors for us to engage with."
