Lucy Mackay
I started my career in logistics in 2019 when I joined Tesco’s Distribution & Fulfilment graduate scheme after graduating in law at university.
I started worked in our distribution centres working both within warehouse and transport function across all temperature regimes. I also had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles including in our Global Logistics and Primary Distribution teams, developing my knowledge of our UK, European, and international inbound operation across road, rail, and sea.
Following the graduate scheme, I continued within Primary Distribution, running our fresh food inbound operation, and heading up several development projects which focussed on providing more sustainable routes to market. Currently I’m Centre Manager at Tesco’s Customer Fulfilment Centre in London which services our Home Delivery Operation and serves around 3,200 customers orders daily.
The variety of roles I’ve worked in at Tesco has equipped me with a breadth of skills and a deep understanding the full end-to-end supply chain from suppliers all the way to the customer’s home. I’ve also loved being part of an industry that’s evolved massively throughout the turbulent times of recent years
